La più grande e popolosa città del New Mexico è posta proprio al centro dello Stato, a un'altitudine di oltre 1600 metri. La città esercita uno strano fascino sui suoi visitatori: è attraente e misteriosa al tempo stesso, grazie anche allo stile spagnolo della sua Old Town, alle vestigia indiane dei pueblo e al famoso fiume, il Rio Grande, che la bagna. Nel centro storico, molto pittoresco, negozi, artigiani e autentici ristoranti messicani. Con il tram cittadino si può risalire la città fino ad arrivare alla cima, Sandia Peak per godere di una vista mozzafiato. Molti musei interessanti come il: National Atomic Museum e l' Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. |
